Family Life

We at St. John's Lutheran School take a Biblical approach when it comes to the family. This is part of the reason why families who attend churches throughout both Wayne and Monroe counties choose to send their children here. A large portion of your student's experience at St. John's includes you! We regularly sponsor events that bring together our students, parents, and extended family. Some of these events includes our Back to School BBQ, Science Fair, Living Wax Museum, the Book Fair, operettas, dramas, sports activities, school pride week, National Lutheran Schools Week, and day-to-day classroom events.

Family Outcomes:

We at St. John's Lutheran School endeavor to produce eighth grade graduates:

  • who behave like the young men and women they were created to be
  • who honor and respect their parents and other authorities
  • who are confident in their identity as they grow and look forward to future relationships
  • who are faithful in their witness of Christ to their younger siblings

"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her... husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
Ephesians 5:25, 28 (ESV)
"Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
1 Peter 5:4, 5 (ESV)
"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior."
Ephesians 5:22, 23 (ESV)

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4 (ESV)
"For the commandments... are summed up in this word: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."
Romans 13:9, 10 (ESV)
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother' (this is the first commandment with a promise), 'that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.'"
Ephesians 6:1-3 (ESV)
